What are Veneers?

Laminate Veneer (Leaf Tooth): The process of covering the front surfaces of anterior teeth with aesthetic problems with fine porcelain without causing excess material loss is called laminate veneer (leaf tooth).

Laminate veneers make teeth look natural and healthy. They are very thin, the tooth is cut very little because they are glued in place with a strong adhesive. In some cases, it can even be done without the need for any dental intervention.

It is a leaf porcelain coating applied to the front parts of the teeth by abrading the tooth surfaces very slightly. Porcelain Veneer is an application performed for teeth that are crooked, intermittent, broken, small and do not have an aesthetic appearance such as yellow color.

It is a process that can be performed in a short time and the least intervention to the tooth tissue is performed in this method. In this way, the preservation of the tooth structure is ensured. Thanks to their light transmission feature, they are not distinguished from natural teeth and do not change color.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Some tooth is abraded and prepared from the front part of the tooth called enamel. The amount of enamel that has been abraded is very small and will be the same as the thickness of the veneer to be fitted so that the tooth remains the same size.

It may be numbed with a local anesthetic to ensure there is no discomfort during the procedure. After the tooth is prepared, an impression is taken or a digital mold of the tooth is removed by scanning the mouth. Then the prepared tooth is rehearsed and sent for polishing.

It takes at least two sessions with laminate veneer rehearsals. The veneer is adhered to the tooth with a special adhesive that will hold it tight.

What are the advantages of Veneer?

Since porcelain is prepared in a very thin layer, its light transmission and reflection is very close to the natural tooth, and thanks to this feature, it provides excellent aesthetics.
